Cotton ball

It all depends on where you put them. Indoors, cotton ball fairy lights give a soft glow, ideal in a living room or bedroom. Our Classic model, with its 2-hour timer, also works as a night light for children. Outdoors, choose a waterproof model, such as our solar festoon lights for a terrace or pergola. Finally, think about the power source: mains for everyday use, battery to place them anywhere, solar for the garden. Browse all our indoor and outdoor fairy lights.

Outdoors, waterproofing comes first: check the IP rating on the product page, IP44 minimum to withstand rain. Our outdoor fairy lights are waterproof, and many run on solar power, with no cable to run to a socket. For a terrace or pergola, festoon lights are a timeless classic. For a balcony, cotton ball fairy lights come in a waterproof solar version. And to hang festoon lights over a long distance, our accessories include a mounting kit with steel cable and tensioner.

Yes, but they shine for a shorter time: days are shorter and the panel gets less light. To get the best out of them, face the panel due south, away from the shade of trees and walls, and wipe it from time to time. On days without sun, several of our models take over: the festoon lights and the Sphere can run on mains power, and the Cube and the Pebble recharge via USB-C. Discover all our solar fairy lights.
